Show Notes

What happens when members of affected populations go from being objects of study and intervention to co-investigators of the phenomena that impact their lives? What is the case for employing peers, people in recovery, and community members as collaborators in research? Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) can be an effective approach in working with underserved and communities of color in public health sectors. Dr. Chyrell Bellamy, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University, argues for the power of this method of research in the mental health arena.
