Show Notes

The Third Annual Black Student-Athlete Summit at The University of Texas provides no better time to revisit the issue of sports and mental health. Dr. Caroline Brackette is a professor of counseling psychology at Penfield College of Mercer University in Atlanta, GA, and Dr. Ryan Sutton is a postdoctoral fellow of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health at UT Austin. These two scholars provide insight into how the culture of sport can both complicate and enhance the ability of black student-athletes to maintain their mental health.
